IBM has an extensive web site that ranges in substance from product-to-product. Detailed customer case studies provide almost everything a prospective client might want to know — except IBM's value proposition.
It is difficult for the vast majority of companies to quantify the value that is created by their products or services. IBM is no different. As an alternative, IBM presents their Institute for Business Value, which offers a numbers of reports and white papers that bring a prospect close to the value proposition.
IBM is also embracing user-generated content through its Developer Works Forums. These are focused on developers, not creating an environment that encourages customers to quantify the value proposition they have experienced with IBM.
